Listening Comprehension Activity

1) You are going to listen to an excerpt from "The Tell Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe. Before you listen, play this vocabulary game. 

2) Now go through the questions and options in the quiz. Then, identify key words and predict your answers but do not answer yet.

 

3) Listen to the beginning of the story retold by Iggy Pop. 

4) Complete the quiz. You can listen to the podcast as many times as you need.
5) Discussion. Write your answers to the following questions in the comments section:

• How does the narrator describe the old man's eye? 
• What techniques do you know to write the beginning of a story? (Check your notes on page 25).
